My SO and I live in different countries right now... he's in the US and I in Canada.  I was supposed to be going to see him on the 18th for 10 days...  This morning I got a call from him at 430 saying "I've got some bad news,"  Of course the first thing I think of is something happened to him on the rig.  Thankfully that wasn't the case.  Instead I got "Our rig is headed to South Louisianna,"  I wasn't thinkin much of it since he's so close to LA that he's there often.  But this job was gonna be an out of town job... very rare for him to not come home...  He tells me that the job might be a week to a month long... they won't find out till they get there... which means my flight to go see him has to be postponed... I miss him horribly and all I wanted to do was see him and now I can't even do that... seems like everytime we try to do something, something gets in the way.... I understand that it's the nature of the job that he could be in A one day and B the next.  This isn't my first time in the OF Rodeo... I understand how it works....Still ain't makin' any of this any easier.  I can hear in his voice how disappointed he is... and I've spent the morning crying, or trying to hold back while I'm here at work... he keeps telling me "promise me you're not gonna leave???" Of course I'd never leave the love of my life.  It's just hard to be so excited about something and to have it taken away just like that. Ugh... trying not to get too depressed :( Wish my gf's understood what it's like.... They all just tell me to basically get over it and that it aint the end of the world.... GRR.

I know how hard that can be! In the 10yrs I've been with him, I've learned not to get my hopes up on seeing him till I know for sure he's on his way home! We live in Alberta and he travels anywhere from BC-Manitoba right now though he has had states runs before! We had one day last shift right before he was to come home that plans changed 6 times in a day and he ended up being gone a few extra days!
