hello ladies :) well my husband just got on with a company doing flow testing, he'll be gone 2 weeks in Wyoming or North Dakota and then home 1week. I was just wondering if any of yall make meals for them to take or what cause where he is going they dont have the catering thing on the man camp so I have to figure out how to feed him and keep food good for 2 weeks.... I was thinking easy quick things that he can just throw in a microwave, like ramen, and cans of soup and chef boiardi or something, but I was wanting to give him some home cooked stuff to take too... any ideas, i already made some green chili enchiladas and stuck em in the freezer and some beefy noodle stuff that i make that he loves, but he wont have a ton of freezer space. Just trying to thing of other things I make make for him thats like a taste from home I guess. Do any of yall do that or have any idea on what i could make for him?
I'm not sure hun. My hubby works offshore and works a 14/7 schedule too, but his boat supplies groceries. My dad works offshore too, and sometimes he'll cook up a huge thing of gumbo/soup/etc and put serving sizes in freezer bags and freezes it so he can just heat it up later.
He just buys food at work, they have a camp (trailors) that they stay in, they are nice and have everything to cook with. He will buy easy things like hamburger helper and that kind of stuff, and sandwhich stuff for lunch, or soups and that sort of thing. But before he leaves me and the kids always make him some sort of homemade goodie. Like cookies, or donuts, or cinnamon rolls, etc. That way at least for a few days he can have some sorts of treats from home
