Hi Everyone! I'm Darby, and I'm new to Cafemom.com...I was introduced by a friend of mine, and I've joined a few groups!
My son, Brady, is 15 months old and has Cystic Fibrosis and Asthma...he was born at 37 weeks weighing 5.4 lbs. and stayed in the NICU for 2 weeks before coming home. He's been sick several times, but only been hospitalized once, when he was about 5 months old. He's doing pretty well currently, except for his GI and digestion problems...I'll post a few questions about that later!
Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone!
I'm so thankful that Brady's culture came back NEGATIVE for pseudomonas! Now, we'll get a short break from Tobi and maybe Cipro! Praise the Lord!
Although...Brady's having a tough time with his eating...he ONLY wants to drink milk (fortified with carnation instant breakfast to increase calories)! He won't eat ANYTHING else...I have to trick him to get a spoonful of applesauce in his mouth so he can take his enzymes! It's so hard, and I'm not sure what the problem is!
He's been having some digestion problems over the past few months, with a lot of gas and vomiting after meals, so his doctors have set up a few things...intestinal biopsy next week and gastric emptying scan later in the month. We'll see what happens with that...right now his weight is okay, but we have to keep a close watch on it so that he doesn't lose a lot of weight...currently, he's lost about 1.5 lbs. over the last 2 weeks since his eating changed so drastically...we'll see what happens now.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
