Last week on Facebook CFF announced that the FDA has approved a new dosing and sized form of Creon just for infants!!!
This doesn't help me out as my guy is 3 1/2 now, but it will my sister who is due very soon (her new one has CF too) and all the other future babies who are diagnosed early or show symptoms at an early stage. I remember counting the beads for my son's feedings since the smallest dosage was Creon 5 and it was far too much for a 6 pound body who was only allowed 5mL of milk every 4 hours. He was born with meconium ileus and had ileostomy surgery with a double barrel stoma before he was 72 hours old. He dumped so much, even with such little food. The enzyme dosage was always such a mess. I am grateful for this new approach Creon has made to help prevent situations like mine from happening again.
