How do you get your little boy to stand?

My little guy is too short to reach the top of the potty to stand and pee so we got him a stool. Even though we bought him a stool he doesnt want to stand to pee. He says he thinks hes going to fall in. Just wondering how you taught your little guy to stand to pee, and to "aim" in the right direction. :0)

How old is he? I know that my 15 month old only pees when he stands and not when sitting on the potty. Well he pees in the shower or next to the shower that is.

my mom had my dad show my borther and then she added targets :) ....im waiting for my husband to come home and do the same with our son ...my sons teachers at school got a boy last year to stand and pee while they were on a picnic he didnt want to use the bathroom out at the park  so that got him to stand (his mother was so happy they were able to get him to do that she have been trying for months )

I only have girls, but I would have dad show him what to do then add cheerios or something in there to aim at

I havent tried yet, Im assuming my husband will be better at that. What if you use a small potty chair instead of the toilet?

As for aim, I heard a ping pong ball works great & doesnt flush.

He just kept sitting until he was a bit older and started watching daddy more. Nothing wrong with sitting. ;)

We started both my boys sitting down at 2 years old (24 months).  Then when they're a little older, then we start having them stand up. I let daddy do that part of the training. lol.
