Still No Luck & Almost 3

Ok, so my son going to be 3 in a month but we still have had NO LUCK with potty training. I am starting to think that I must be doing something wrong. Part if the problem is he doesnt seem to care or tell me if he is wet or soiled. He knows his potty and we will sit on it from time to time. When he start to get the poopoo face I say lets go potty and he runs into the bathroom, if he does go we make a big deal out of it clapping and cheering, and loves to say bye to the poopoo in the toilet. But later he will soil himself with out a second thought. I also have to add we have never made pee in the potty.

I am starting to get frustrated (not with him) and really have no idea where to go from here!

Have you tried the timer to get him to try and go every 20-30  minutes? Maybe he will start going if you do this and not wait to 'catch the face'. My son is happy in a poopy diaper too :-(

My brother was like that when we were kids.  He just didn't care/didn't want to take the time to go to the bathroom.  He did eventually catch on though.

My oldest is 5 and finally we got the potty training done, we let him do it on his own time cuz trying to make him wasnt working. my 3 yr old is potty training now and he turned 3 back in oct. i think its best to let them do it on their own time. we also use incentives like 1 piece of candy for pee and 2 for poop

My DS potty trained about 2 weeks after 3. I agree with the timer. My DS responded well to the Huggies potty training ap on my phone that would "call" him & tell him it's potty time (you have to remember to open the ap & it'll "call him")
