Im starting the challenge for Feb instead of January since Im just now getting the group going again.

challenge:

This month you are not to go out to a restaurant or order deliver. All meals (except Valentines night) are to be prepared and cooked in your home with no sodium(salt) and no sugar!

Buy sodium free/low sodium or fresh foods. To cook without added fat and just a tiny bit of cookng spray.

Season with peppers (black, paprika, fresh), garlic (minced or powder), onions (powder or fresh-all kinds), mrs dash no salt seasonings, chili powder, thyme, etc.

                         shopping

No sodium and sugar... means no soda!!

Drink only water, tea (w/splenda) or GREEN TEA (i recommend diet green tea on the coke isle at WM of you dont want to brew your own).

Your challenge: weight training...

The more total muscle mass you have the more calories you burn in a shorter amount of time because it takes more calories "to feed" that muscle when it contracts.

Also it increases you metabolism!!

remember... also tone your bigger muscles first.

example work out plan:

at home or gym:

20 minutes warm up cardio everyday - treadmill, bike, or walk the block;

then Monday, Wednesday, Friday - upper body: biceps curls, triceps extensions, bench press or pushups, abs machine or crunches

(do a "girl's push up" if you need to... keep your knees on the ground)

(dont have money to buy weights... find something around the house!)

(ladys dont forget to work those "love handles" by twisting in your crunches, to make crunches more effective lift your feet off of the ground)

and Tuesday, Thursday, SAturday - lower body: leg extensions, leg curls, leg press, squats, calf raises

(put back against wall and slide down if doing squats at home to keep that back straight!)

and Sunday - rest!!

but every single day each member get into this post and notes what she has done for that day even if you write.. i didnt walk at all today.

i think this might help motivate everyone and help you keep track of what you've done when you respond to this each day.

sticking witht he July theme I have walked everyday this week. and rode on my "bike" some too.

 

I went around the block twice and today i stepped it up to 3 rounds....

and i am hurting!! my legs are like jello. just from 1 more vblock.... but that progress.

ive been a total slacker today! hubby and i went a played golf and thats the closest i got to exercising today!!

also... i have to admit that i have not done the august challenge at all.... boo me! : (
