I remember buying Golden Books for my oldest daughter. She got a whole bunch from her Nino for Christmas when she was 2 yrs. and she would read all of them!

My youngest daughter inherited these books, most were markered and colored and torn but she still made good use of it. One of the books, "The Three Bears" I used to read to her all the time and she memorized it so when she got into kindergarten, for show and tell, even though she couldn't read she told the whole story, flipping the pages like she knew what she was reading, all from memory it was soooo cute!

Sigh* They're all grown now, my youngest is 14yrs going on 15yrs in March and my oldest is 26yrs with 2 sons of her own. BUT I still have some of these Golden Books in my Memory Box :))))))

Yes, I had a whole collection when I was small, but I don't know what happened to them.  Thanks for the memory :o)

He loved 'The Pokey Little Puppy' and will not let it leave his house.  All six of his grandchildren have read it(my 2 and my brothers 4).

Wasn't there a guy somewhere in the NW who complained because he found a Golden Book that was a Kid's Meal "prize" from Chick-fil-A in his house? Personally I like the Golden Books, their quaint artwork, and the story lines!

That was one of my oldest daughter's favorite books! She's 26yrs old now with 2 sons of her own but no Golden Books. I'll have to fix that! :)))

I never heard about that and yes some of the artwork is good enough to hang on the wall :)
