My SO just ran to the store to pick up some Orajel.

This is the last thing I want to give my little dude!!!

We let him chew on licorice root.....and I plan on going to the store to pick up some clove oil and vanilla extract, I read those will really help with the pain of teething.

Anyone know of anything besides these things???

  • We use Humphrey's teathing tablets.  They are homeopathic as well.  My DS reacts when I drink dairy and the Hylands are dairy based so I didn't want to risk it.  He has 4 teeth coming in now and the tablets are all we have to use.  But when his first two teeth came in it was horrible.  We ended up alternating Tylenol, orajel, and the teething tablets. I didn't want to use the medicine, but he was screaming and couldn't sleep.  I was walking him around the house crying with him.So don't feel guilty is you have to use some medicine.

I have the best results from the teething tablets when I crush them, then use my finger to let DS eat them.  They are sweet so it's not a struggle.

Good luck, you'll both make it through.

  • At your ds age cold carrots were a life saver.... my dd loved to chew on them.  You can pretty much freeze whatever you want foodwise that is hard to let them chew on as well.  Those teether feeders are awesome for teething... you can always just put ice in them if you don't want to use food yet.   You can tie a knot in a washcloth and wet it and freeze it.

I personally thought the homeopathic Camila, comes in liquid in tubes, worked much better than the hylands or humphreys.  I would also give my dd some lemon balm tincture, helps with tooth issues and sleep.

    good luck!

  • Hylands Teething tablets and Baltic Amber teething necklace

I tried EVERYTHING I could think of, and nothing really worked till I got the teething necklace.  He wears that all the time, and if he is having a particularly hard time then I'll give him the teething tablets.  I purchased it from www.inspiredbyfinn.com.
