I was wondering about peoples supply. With my first pregnancy I did not make as much as I am making this time around. So this is all new to me. Well, since I have came home from the hospital 10 wks ago I have been making a ton of milk. well maybe not a ton for some of the experienced momma's but for me it seems to be alot compare to my first pregnancy. In the mornings I make about 20-40 oz, then the next 3-4 times I pump I make 15-20 oz of milk. I only pump about 4 -5 times a day. I know they suggest more but I seem to be making a ton of milk as it is. I have my whole deep freezer filled with bags of milk and then my milk in my frig and also my frigs freezer as well. I am running out of room and we are going to have to buy another freezer at this rate. My question is how long will the milk last? I mean just a round about estimate. I mean if anyone has ever frozen milk before and about how long did your supply last? I hope I am making sense. I am just curious that is all.
The milk currently in my frig. I made up bottles so they are ready to use and I still have 3 8 oz bottles and a 2 QT container to use in a week.

bottles of frozen milk in my frig freezer.

Believe it or not my deep freeze in the garage is full of bags of milk.
I could have written this post myself!!!
My son is 3 months old and I'm almost exactly like you. I pump a ton of milk and we have about 2300 ounces frozen already. I had a deep freeze like the one you have and it filled up after 2 months. I had to buy a bigger deep freeze. Funny enough, I also bag my milk like you do in the ziploc bags, so my freezer looks just like yours.
I also pump only 4-5 times a day even though everyone says 8-10 times a day. I pump when I first wake up, one right before lunch at work, once before I leave work, and then right before bed. I make about 50-60 ounces a day and Alex eats about 24 ounces a day right now.
As for storage, kellymom says milk in a deep freeze will stay up to 6-12 months.
I guess we have just been blessed with oversupply. I'm not complaining though!
I rent a pump from a place by my house. and they gave me a hospital grade pump like you use in the hospital. Its a Medela Symphony. We are thinking of asking them if they will sell a pump to us when we decide to pump. We like renting bc we were not sure how long my supply would be in. With my first son I did not makes as much as this time so around 5 months I stopped pumping. This time with the supply up I will probably do it longer with the supply I am freezing it will last alittle while.

thats a lot of milk! random question what pump do you use?
Yea I am not complainging either I was just curious that is all. I mean I know how long it can stay in the deepfreez was just curious about how long it would last after I pumped but I guess that depends on how much my son is eating etc. I would never bc able to pump 8-10 times. OMG I am having a problem finding places for the milk now. We just went to look at another deep freeze bc I have no where to put milk. I told my hubby I could stop but he said as long as I am making do not worry we will find a place for it. So here i am. hehe!

I would definitely look into donating if you are making that much. That is really an outrageous amount! I do not even make as much in a day as you make in one session! My average is 30 ounces per day. I am very jealous. In the deep freeze it is supposed to be good for a year, regualr freezer 6 months. I would take how much LO eats in a day and calculate how much they would need over 6 months or a year and keep a little extra.
Thanks that is a good way to look at it. I guess I could try and slow my supply down some. BUt I would had for me to go messing around with it and then all of a sudden I produce nothing.

can you please tell me your secret?! lol that is amazing! i only pump like 35-40 ounces per day. i really want to pump and freeze enough in hopes that i can stop pumping in six months and have enough in the freezer to last her til shes a little over a year old. shes 6 weeks old today and ive only been pumping enough to freeze 6-12 ounces per day and the rest she eats. what do you eat and how much water do you drink per day? do you take any vitamins or anything like that? sorry for all the questions, i just really would like to up my supply and be able to get more out per pumping session. right now im lucky if i get 8 ounces per session
im so jealous right now you guys have no idea i wish i had what you guys do, im struggling so horribly im barely getting 1cc of milk, (the docs said its because i had my daughter extreemly premature) but still all i want to do is pump milk for her, right now she is getting doner milk because i cannot keep up :( i fee horrible
