I have been exclusively pumping for 9 weeks now...this is alot of work! I have so much respect for all you pumping mommas out there! I have to go back to work on August 13 and I'm sitting here thinking about how I will ever find the time to sleep again. How do you ladies work full time, do midnight pumps, and still function?? As of right now, I have 500 ounces of BM frozen and will continue to save as much as I can before returning to work. Im worried my supply will start to diminish once I return to work!! I'm fighting with myself regarding formula...i don't know if I'm ready to introduce it or not. In your opinions, would out be better for me to feed my baby all of the frozen BM until it's gone or mix it in with formula to make it last twice as long? I'm so torn and feel guilty about even thinking about formula!!

1 mom liked this
I don't work, but I was able to give up my night pumps at 4 months which made continuing a lot easier!
Personally,I wouldn't mix bm and formula. I'd just use the frozen and introduce formula when and if I had to.
Good luck!

In the NICU they mixed premade formula with my pumped milk. The formula had extra calories to help him gain weight though and the neonatologist suggested it. I would just bring it up at your doctor visit or if you don't have one until after you go back to work then most offices have call hours where you can call and ask questions

Thank you! We see the doctor next week and I will definetely ask! I've heard that some BM is better than none but I want to make sure I'm giving it to him the best way!
