Every kid loves getting new school supplies, we know we did.
Even if the ones from last year are still ok, there's nothing like getting some new ones.
In the thread below share your tips for buying new school supplies without breaking the bank.

I was very luck and only had to buy a large box of tissues, I am sure as my daughter gets older that will change so I can't wait to see what other moms do to save.
I usually get all the school sales at walmart and the local dollar store and save alot
Penny sales at staples.Buy after school starts for the next year when the stores do their mark downs.
waiting till they go on sale, if you live in a state that has tax free weekend, go on that weekend, buy a few things at a time, or buy for the next year when they are really cheap at the beginning of school when they are really cheap!!

I bought supplies early this year, back in July. Walmart had a great sale on them, so I figured it was a good time.

I start shopping for school supplies as soon as they go on sale. I usually do really well at Walmart and Walgreens. I think that I have enough crayons to last my kids a lifetime..LOL
For me, as soon as the deals come out I shop then. If I wait then they are out of stuff. I also check out the dollar store for some things too. You can't beat 10 cent boxes of crayons. I also try to by a few extra of some things that I think they will need through out the year. I also go with a list so that I don't buy anything that I don't really need. The school provides us with one and that is what I use. I am all done my shopping, thank GOD!!
Dollar Tree is a good place to shop. And I got alot of stuff at Office Max this year when they had their penny sale. Can't beat crayons for a penny!LOL

I don't know if Illinois has a tax free weekend. If they do, it is a very well kept secret!
