Every kid loves getting new school supplies, we know we did.

Even if the ones from last year are still ok, there's nothing like getting some new ones.

In the thread below share your tips for buying new school supplies without breaking the bank.

10 moms who reply to this thread will win a $10 Barnes & Noble gift card.

  • We got DD's supplies when stores had a sale on them.  We would check the sale ads that come out in Sunday's local papers.  Once school has started and has been going on for a while, we'll be checking the "clearance" items --- of what's left, anyway.

  • I watch the local adds and buy the penny deals and the things for a quarter or a dime.  Staples, office max and office depot have great deals on school supplies.  I got just about everything that my DS needed and really did have to spend to much.

I always buy extra pencils, crayons and markers while they are really cheap because they always ask for more in the middle of the year when they are way more expensive.  I also hit the clearance sales after school starts and put things back for next year.
