These are a few of our Back to School DO'S and Don'ts.

Do - Sneak fun notes like "Have a good day" into lunch boxes as an extra surprise.

Don't - Take a chance with meltdowns over misplaced belongings -- label everything from  clothing and shoes to school supplies.

Do - Get organized by visiting the school and meeting the teachers.

Don't - OD on glittery, sparkly school supplies

  • Do tell them to have a good day at school!

Don't let them go to school without having breakfast!

  • do- kiss your little boys goodbye before you leave for the bus stop, or you may find you don't get a kiss

don't-let a rough morning set the tone for your kids day - always make sure the last interaction they have with you is a smile and a "love you!"

  • Home-Schooling Do's and Don'ts...

    Do: Plan Early and thoroughly

Don't: Over-stress! Take things one at a time!

Do: Take plenty of field trips! Some of the best lessons I have ever learned, I learned on a field trip!

Don't: Feel the need to go too far for a field trip! Some of the most interesting things may just be in your own back yard!

Do: Find a great support group and immerse yourself in it! Other home-schooling moms are the best people to give you ideas, encouragement and support!

Don't: Let ANYONE make you feel bad for your choices. You do what is best for your child! They are!

Homeschooling is the answer to ALL of our Educational issues!

"Clearly there is an appropriate kind of sheltering.
When those who are opposed to homeschooling accuse me of sheltering my children, my reply is always, 'What are you going to accuse me of next, feeding and clothing them?" ~ R.C. Sproul Jr.

  • DO--make sure they have comfy clothes and shoes for gym days especially.

Do--send an extra set of clothes for accidents, spills...(had this problem last year luckily there was an extra set at school)

DON'T--let your child stay home from school just because they want to.

  • DON'T make for a bad day by rushing your kids out the door. Have homework done, clothes laid out, and backpacks by the door each night. Rushing your kids tends to lead to yelling which makes for an awful way to begin the day!

Do be polite to both students, teachers, and principals and others who work at the school

Don't be afraid to tell your parrents if an adult at the school does something to make your feel uncomfortable

Do not be mean to kids who others pick on to be accepted.

    FOR MOMS AND GRANDMAS

Encourage your children and grandchildren to tell you about school and REALLY listen

Make sure the children know they are loved and respected and if they have something to tell you that might not be easy do not judge too quickly
