Any school holiday week is going to be considered the busy season.

Our schools are closed the entire week of Thanksgiving so we always leave the Thursday before Thanksgiving and fly home Thanksgiving morning.  This way, my kids only miss either 1 1/2 or 2 days of school (depending on what time our flight leaves).

The crowds are small except as you get closer to Thanksgiving Day, they get a little bigger.  Last November, we didn't notice more crowds until the day before Thanksgiving and even then they were still managable.  Flying home, the airport isn't a crowded since most holiday travelers are already at their destinations.

The parks are totally decorated for the holidays.  Last year was the first time the Osbourne Lights weren't on before Thanksgiving so we missed them which saddened me as I love them.
