My 2 yr old LOVES his True Fit seat. And - so do we! He's almost 3, so forward facing... and everyone in the family loves it. Putting him in is easy, taking him out is easy. Putting the seat in is easy, taking the seat out is also easy. It's comfortable (this *IS* important to me and everyone else who sits in the car with him). He feels like a big boy in it and I know he's safe. It's SUPER easy to adjust - no taking the whole darn seat apart to adjust it to him - can you say HEAVEN??! The cover just snaps right off to clean - sooo awesome!!
I would - and do - and will - recommend this seat to anyone when opportunity arises.
The only 2 things I do NOT like about this seat are as follows (and all things considered, I guess they're relatively minor but they are in my face every time we're in the car): the cup holder is too low and far back for him to reach - he can't take things out or put them in on his own.... and the cushion that goes under him is not attached - so it's forever getting moved around and wadded up - I really HATE that.
In all, this seat beats all the others I've had to bits!
Thank you The First Years - HOME RUN!!

Sometimes God calms the storm... sometimes He lets the storm rage and calms His child.
Do you mean he is using the infant padding while forward facing? That is supposed to be removed once the baby reaches the first slots and when they get turned forward facing. There should be no padding underneath him. I love this seat as well. Caleb is 13 months, 32 inches and 25lbs so, of course, he is still rear facing. I love the high limits and how much room he has in this seat.
WHY????

Because that is what is stated in the manual...lol. My guess is that the infant padding was only approved for rear facing when the baby can't reach the bottom slots. Their only purpose is to provide enough support to newborns and young babies and to boost them up to the bottom slot so they fit properly. When their shoulders reach the bottom slots on their own, the infant padding no longer serves any purpose.

I love the seat. I haven't had an issue with the cup holder and we don't have the padding in since he is forward facing and is really tall for being 1. But yes I loooove the seat no complaints. I wish they had this for my other three kids.
