I am expecting in January and need to know one thing... Even if i do buy this car seat, i will still need an infant carrier for a new born. Ive been around with my mom and she thinks that i can use this for a newborn baby as well.

Thank you!

You don't HAVE TO have an infant car seat to carry your son around.  Sure, they are 'handy' because you don't have to remove your child from it.  However, they will outgrow it soon.  If you just buy this seat from the start, you'll have a seat for a very long time.

As far as carrying your child, you can invest in a good sling. Those are very handy.

  • you don't have to use another car seat if you don;t want you can use a carrier which i use sometimes also...but now my girl can sit up so she in the cart.

I mean the car seat is very cushioned and it stays in put 10x better than my old ones i love it! but that is the only con about it..is that you cannot bring it in the store.

  • I just got a True Fit for my son who is almost 18 months. He actually still fits in his infant car seat. I picked the Graco SafeSeat for the higher height and weight limits. I really like both seats. I think the Graco seat is much easier to use but maybe that is because I have been using it for 18months! It is so simple to install and I highly recommend it. I didn't really carry him around in it much because I found it was really heavy and I preferred to wear him in a baby sling when shopping.

The Truefit would be a better investment though since it goes from 5-65lbs. With all the padding, a newborn would fit in it so well. But it really doesn't install well in my car for rear-facing. The Graco fit perfectly in every car I ever put it into and I put it into a lot of cars!
