Hi there, I'm new to the group and have a little bun in the oven so will be needing another car seat soon.  Currently my 17 month is still rear facing in her Britax Marathon.  It is in the middle of the back seat.  I'm afraid there is no way we can get two rear facing seats in my jeep grand cherokee's back seat.  My hubbie drives a volvo and is in the same position.  Even if we turn our oldest to front facing in August when number 2 arrives, I don't think we can get two back there.  Does anyone know the dimensions of the true fit?  Is it bigger or smaller than the marathon?

I really don't want to buy new cars to go with our new kiddo, ya know what I mean?

  • The True Fit has a taller shell and is a bit wider than the Marathon BUT the True fit has a removable headrest for babies/toddlers rear facing and under 22lbs.  This will make it easier to have your newborn at the full 45 degree angle that is required for that age.  As the new baby gets older and when the headrest is needed, the seat can be as upright as 35 degrees so that should also make it easier to fit in your vehicle.  Your 17 month old can be as upright as 30 degrees in the Marathon so this should make it easier to fit in your vehicles.  If both seats are put on the outerboard positions, I think they should be able to fit.  If you are having trouble figuring something out, the best thing to do would to find a certified tech in your area to help you out with the arrangement.  You can find one by clicking on the link in my siggy.  Great job ERF!
