Open adoption is a sacred promise & sometimes an actual contract made between potential adoptive parents & an expectant woman considering adoption for her child.

It can be a successful & rewarding experience as it is in my family, but the other & more common experience is that adoptive parents do NOT honor their promises. That is the side that no one seems to hear about, because it is not the rosy portrayal that society wants presented. I had never heard about it until I came to Cafemom.

The stories of the victims of "Open Adoption" need to be told. My goal is that all those voices will come together here in one place & make themselves heard. By doing so, you can give an expectant woman the full reality of what she is contemplating before she makes her final decision.

A second benefit that I aim to achieve is to open the eyes of adoptive parents everywhere, especially those who have closed their children's adoptions without so much as a second thought. I want them to fully realize the pain they are causing for the women who entrusted their children to them, and even more tragically, the pain they are inflicting upon the children themselves.
