I created this book club in order to have a place that other mystery book lovers can come and discuss their books..... be it old and paperback (which is my personal favorites), or even the new and hardback stuff too. Book on Tape listeners are welcome too....Mysteries usually get skiped in other book clubs and this isn't the kind of club that we all sit down and read the same book... I wanted a place to say this is what I have read and why I enjoyed it so much and maybe you might like to know about it and pick it up yourself. I own used paperbacks and have over 1000 in my personal collection but I also buy and read the new stuff that is out there... I even have a small reference service (mainly for friends or other college students that I have know) that says that "I personally think that if you like this author, then perhaps you might like to look into this author too and by the way here are the names of the books in the series and their order". I like the idea of people reading. I really like the idea of people reading mysteries because I think they actually are the smartest book in the fiction section. And I encourage people that if you don't have a lot of money go to used books stores and libraries. READ!!!! It is always important....Plus if the kids see us reading they might read some themselves..it has worked for me and my husband with our ten year old.
