Hi Everyone!
I wanted to start a brand new Introduction as we are beginning a new school year.
Please Introduce yourselves and a little bit about your family and how many children you are homeschooling and their grades. Also do you use anything else along with your curriculum? Please share that as well.
I will start with our family introduction.
My name is Rachelle and my husband and I have been married for 25 years. Our oldest daughter we homeschooled in the beginning and the last 3 years she attended along with our 2nd daughter at a Christian School that used the Ace Curriculum, Our oldest graduated from there but, we were not able to afford to send our 2nd oldest due to finances and she attended the public HS last year and will graduate this year from there. We ended up using the K12 Curriculum last year for our youngest 2 and I can't tell you how glad I am to be back to School of Tomorrow. I am also using Harmony Art Mom (along with Art) and Handbook of Nature Study (along with Science) I will share those links with you in our Link Section.
We start School on Tuesday September 7th.
I will be teaching 9th and 5th grade.
I'm Kristina. My husband and I have been married for 16 years. We have 6 beautiful children together and I also have a married daughter from my first marriage.
My 2nd oldest is in Public high school, in 10th grade. She likes it there, but I don't like the fact that she is exposed to so much corruption. I am homeschooling my 3rd daughter, she is 13 and we will be using 5th grade paces when they get here. I had her do the diagnostic testing because she was struggling so much in school last year. I have a 4th daughter in middle school, but wish desperately that my dh would agree to bring her home to homeschool as well (that school is the worst in our state.) Then my son and next to the youngest daughter are at the grade school. I can't complain about that school, although my son has mentioned quite a bit of bullying on the bus. My baby is at home she is 8 months and a big surprise, we really thought we were done with our 6 yr old. lol But, the Lord makes His own plans and we love her all the same.
My goal is to prove to my husband how homeschooling can really turn a child around and give them an advantage, so that he will agree to bring them all home.
Hi Kristina,
I am so glad that you are here and I will be praying that God will speak to your husbands heart about bringing the others home so you can teach them. I too have my 2nd oldest in HS and really wish she would finish at home but, she does like it there and seems to be doing very well. She wanted our daughter Whitney to go this year which she would be a freshman but, I didn't want that and thanks be to God neither did Whitney.
Yes, God does make his own plans..But, what a wonderful blessing to you and your family to have your youngest daughter.
I look foward to getting to know you more through the school year.
Blessings
Hi everyone! Is there anyone still here? My husband and I have two married daughters that we homeschooled. We helped start several ACE school as our girls were growing up. My husband was the principal and I was a supervisor. They graduated from using ACE in a homeschool setting. We have recently adopted two children, and have found ourselves homeschooling again using ACE. We will be using the preschool program for our 3 yr. old and have placed the 7yr. old in second grade.
