My 3 year old has been day trained for awhile now. He hasn't had an accident in a long time.
We were using pull ups at night because he never seemed to be able to stay dry at night, but we've decided it's time to get him trained at night.
We stop giving him liquids 2 hours before bed. We make him go to the bathroom right before bed & then my husband wakes him up around 11pm to use the bathroom one last time.
But he's still wetting the bed around 3 am every night.
What else can we do??
Hello. I am at the same point. My son is 2 1/2 and he has been going all day with a tiny accident once and a while for about 2 weeks now. He has even went poop on the big potty, but he does not get the concept of holding it at night. His last cup of juice is at dinner, then if he wants anything to drink after that it is water so he doesn't drink it all at once. When he got up this morning he did go in his pull up but he wasn't wet through like he has been in the past. When he first gets up he is so not interested in using the potty, and that is a downfall knowing he should have to go right when he gets up. When I try to get him to go first thing in the morning he just cries and screams about it. Good luck to you and if I come up with something that works I will let you know.
I am also in the same boat except my son just turned 5. Sometimes he is dry in the morning but most of the time he is very wet. We do all those things also but it doesn't seem to matter. I've heard that it will just work itself out in time when the bladder is mature enough to hold it though the night. I guess I'll just wait and wait and wait and . . .
Are you stopping liquids several hours before his bedtime?
Have you considered setting your alarm to get up around 2:30 and getting him to go potty again around that time?
Or, if you get up in the night to go potty, get him up to go when you do.
