My daughter turned 2 in late August, so she's 2 years and almost 2 months..early this month she began crying bcuz she did not want her diaper on AT ALL>>>>I put on panties since I began telling her about the potty not expecting any progress since she's so young....She had been showing signs of readiness of potty training but since I live such a crazy life balancing work and my 2 kids (2 yrs and 6 months old) i never dedicated much time to potty training. So that day she took off her diaper and actually peed in her potty ALL BY HERSELF!!! It's been great since....she's having fewer and fewer accidents and we are thrilled. Now the pooping issue!!!!!!!!!!! She hides under the table and poops in her panties. She will finish and come to me and tell me she's pooped on herself but won't poop in potty. I take her to the potty and show her where the poop goes but she says no, naturally. I think she's beginning to hold her poop in so she won't poop on herself which is not healthy...Any suggestions on how to get her to poop in potty...thanks
Your best bet is to sort of stalk her and wait for her to give signs that she's about to or actually has started pooping (squatting, hiding, grunting, etc.) and then get her to the toilet ASAP. Then walk outside of the bathroom and stand just outside the bathroom and give her privacy. Since she's hiding, she obviously wants privacy and so give it to her. She'll be more likely to be willing to poop on the toilet if she has her privacy.
Well thank you so much for your opinions......I am happy to say she just decided to poop in her potty on her own....she told me one day mami peepee and I heard a poop hit the potty...lol
now onto nighttime training but that'll take a while, I need to eliminate the nighttime bottle ...but like I said that'll be a while.....
HI, I was reading your story and I just wanted to add my two cent too. My daughter is 2 and half. Her birthday was in May. I thought I would NEVER get her bottle away from her, anytime soon anyways. But in late August I traveled up north with my children and packed everything like I always. Little did I know that Juniper (my daughter) took her bottle out of the bag because she wanted it (I found it by the frig when we got home). When we got my sisters house we noticed that we had no bottle. I panicked!! But all the stores up north where I could get on were closed. So we gave her a nuby cup and stuck it out. She cried herself to sleep that night and the next one too. But the next, then next after that got better. So we throw the bottles away when we got home. Anyways, long story shorter...LOL. Try maybe staying over some where...(where they won't mind a little bit of crying) and tell her you forgot the bottle and stores are closed to get new one. I also told her she was a big girl and laid with her until she fell asleep. Sorry if I was being nosey. Just thought I would share my experiences.
