Did you read the top message in this forum about how to night train and have you done all that stuff?
I would talk to the kids about what kind of dreams they are having. I know I had problems bedwetting at night because I would dream I would walk to the bathroom and go but I would really be in my bed. First, I would take off the pull-ups for the 12 yr old. boy, for that is kind of sickening...put a black plastic bag under the sheet (my mom did that with me untill I had no more accidents) and make him change the sheet if he wets it. He knows by now that he needs to go to the potty at night-try making him go before going to bed and if alarms scare him, physically wake him up and say let's go to the bathroom. I am sorry that I don't have much advice for the almost 5 yr. old; but I do remember I had issues bedwetting until I was 7. Tell him if he has dreams about going to the bathroom that is his body telling him he needs to go. He needs to wake up and go run to the bathroom. It is NOT NORMAL for 12 yr. olds wetting the bed...I don't know where your doctor got that info but it may be normal for the younger one to still have issues. Maybe the stepson would be willing to try to go at night if he can be an example to the younger sibling...sometimes that may help change their opinions about not caring to go at night. Hope this helps; I am not meaning to sound degrading in any manner, but it is wierd to hear of a 12 yr. old not going at night and wearing pull-ups. (I understand this HAS to be frustrating to you and your significant other).
Ironically, I received an email today about how to end bed wetting... here's the link. There were some helpful tips in there, hopefully you'll find it useful...
