So I just recently started a seasonal job. My daughter has been doing good at potty training, tells us when she needs to go most of the time or we just watch her cues and ask. No accidents for days or weeks on end during the day, still working on the night.
Well the last two days she has had poop accidents. The first day I was out of the room doing laundry for about 10 minutes or so and she went in her pants, I really felt like that was more my fault cause I wasnt there to put her on her potty and she is still working on pulling her pants and panties up and down. That happened twice that day, ill just have to take her into the laundry room with me.
The second day, today I had to go to work. My father babysits for her and he said she wandered off into the kitchen and was quiet. Too quiet. So he went in and she was all upset and she had gone in her pants.
I dont know what to do about these situations.
Is she ever telling you ahead of time that she needs to poop? If not, she's not learned or realized that she's responsible for her own potty success, for both pee and poop. You shouldn't have to watch her 24/7 in order for you to recognize when she needs to poop. She needs to know that it's her job to let you know when she needs to go. If you leave the room, she needs to know that she needs to go to you and tell you she needs to go potty. Is she doing that for pee? She also needs to do that for pee and poop with whoever is taking care of her, otherwise, there are probably going to be more problems in the future since you can't always be around to see her "cues".
