I carry one of those portable kid's seat, the one you put on top the toilet seat, you just fold it and unfold it, I got mine @ walmart for $10, I usually put it in a plastic bag, and clean it real good when I get home, I know what you mean about public restrooms, but that seat makes it a lot easier, you can even wash it in the public restroom sink, if it's big and clean enough.

I would do what PP said. Is really bad to tell her to go in her pants. It sends mixed signals. I would hold my daughter above the potty across my arm (if that makes sense). You could also buy some Clorox wipes to carry in your diaper bag

I agree- don't tell your child to pee in the pull up.  It really is sending mixed messages.  You can always buy a portable potty seat (like previously suggested) or get a portable potty that you can carry in the car and get your child to go on it before going into stores or whatever.

You really have to be careful about putting your phobias about public restrooms off on your kids.  Last thing you need to do is get your child to think that they can't use any public restrooms or else school days will be very bad for them.
