How long

So, we tookl down the little potty chair again hoping that would encourage her to poop on that instead of her pants. The first time she pooped in the potty chair in the living room while watching TV and coloring. Then she pooped in her pants again. Now she told me she needs to poop, but will only sit on the potty chair in the living room with the TV on. How long do I let her do this for? I would rather her not poop in the living room at all. I would much rather her do it in the bathroom, but I also want her to poop in the potty not in her pants. I am at a loss. Oh, she's 2.5

How long has she been pee trained without messes?

Are you using rewards?  If so, what and how to you give them?

How long have you been training her?

How are you dealing with messes?

Are you using rewards?  If so, what and how to you give them? She can have a sucker if she poops on the potty. She only poops every 3 days since we start potty training. Before, she'd poop every day sometimes a couple of times a day. Not to mention we do the " Good Job!" " What a BIG girl" stuff. and DD1 will sing and dance with dd2

How long have you been training her? SInce August. She went about 2 weeks where she would poop on the potty, which basically was she'd say "I pooping momma"  and I'd run her to the potty. She'd never actually poop in her pants, and would poop in the potty, then suddenly she stopped pooping in the potty and now goes far away from me where I can't can't catch her in the act. She'll normally wait til I tell her and her big sister to go play upstairs in the playroom, but if I follow to see if I can catch her in the act, she wont go.

How are you dealing with messes? When she poops in her pants I take her to the shower and I give her a cold shower (just the bottom half of her). She hates it with a passion, but she still poops in her pants. Sometimes I'll also throw away her panties (she has a ton of panties, most of which are hand me downs from her sister), which really makes her mad, but again she still poops her pants.

So the other day, I knew she needed to go. She hadn't gone in a few days and dh gave her 2 Fiber1 bars hoping that it would make her go. She was really gassy and I just new she needed to go. So I had dd1 go and get the potty chair (she uses the big toilet to pee on with no problems at all. She isn't afraid of it, she climbs up and down without assistance and flushes) and we sat her on it in front of the TV with a writing toy thing and 5 minutes later she stood up all proud and says "I poopy momma". She got her sucker and dd1 did the potty dance and song from the Potty DVD. But that was on Sunday. She pooped her pants on Tuesday. she told me all day today she needed to poop, but wouldn't go. I put her on the potty chair in front of the TV and let her sit on the toilet while I was in the bath tub thinking that my being there would help,  but she still wouldn't go. DD1 potty trained herself in less than a week. She figured it all out all on her own. She was 23 months. I don't get it. It has been harder this time because I honestly don't really know what I am doing because I didn't potty train dd1.DD1 has also invited dd2 into the bathroom with her and told her step by step what she was doing and dd2 listened intently. DD1 told dd2 that in order to be a big girl princess she had to go poop and pee on the potty. LOL.

When you've had her in the bathroom on the adult toilet to poop, do you or your other daughter stay in the bathroom with her or are you letitng her have privacy?  Some kids want privacy from the beginning.

You can also try blowing bubbles and/or reading books to her.  Maybe go to the store and let her pick out a few books and/or toys that she only gets when sitting on the toilet in the bathroom to poop.  I'd get rid of the potty in the living room ASAP.  She obviously knows how to manipulate you since she's pooped there a few times and is demanding only potty in living room.

Since she has pooped in the bathroom on the toilet regularly before and stopped, I'd start using discipline/punishment for when she doesn't.  Take away whatever she was doing/playing with when she didn't want to stop what she was doing to go poop.  She needs to know that it's not cute or appropriate to poop in her pants, especially since she's done it regularly before.

My son would sit in the living room and do the same thing..but when he wanted something special I would tell him go make a "big stink" in the bathroom and I will let you have it. His biggest problem with the bathroom was that he would sit there and try and his feet would go numb from sitting on the toilet.. so make sure the potty seat she uses has a removable part that slips onto the toilet.
