I have been trying to train my little girl for a while. We have let go a few times figuring she was not ready because she just stopped telling us she needed to go and stopped showing interest. Now that she is will be three in a few months, I think she needs to be trained. She is showing more interest and goes on the potty, gets her reward, and loves her pull-ups. BUT REFUSES to use the toilet at my day care. She will even bring my daycare provider a new pull up and wipes and tell her she need a new panty, and tell her that she is stinky, but not when she needs to go to the potty. My mom says to just put underwear on her and just let her sit in it, but I am not sure about that.
If she's wearing pull ups, why does she need to learn to use the toilet appropriately? Pull ups are glorified diapers. The pull all the moisture away from the skin and so when a child pees in them, there are no negative consequences. She can pee in the pull up and keep on with whatever she's doing without any worries.
I'd totally put her into regular underwear and you'll probably be surprised at how much more quickly she will decide that using the toilet full time is the best option.
