he did it this morning, but not this afternoon...I need some encouragement!

 I was sooooo proud of ds this morning! When he had a potty break he managed to pee AND poop in the potty. It was just a small poop but who cares! He did it! I was so proud of him, I gave him a huge thomas and friends sticker which he proudly put on his potty. This afternoon when we got home from some errands, I was busy on the phone, turned around and he was squatting in the living room and went all on the carpet. He did run to the bathroom when I caught him. of course it was too late by then because he emptied himself. It's obvious he knows better. I need some encouragement! How do I get him to remember to hold it in and run to the bathroom? I guess his muscle control isnt all there yet and I know it will come naturally very soon...

If he's squatting to poop, the control's there.  The desire to be consistant isn't though. How long has he been pooping sometimes on the toilet?

 well the one time he did poop in the potty before today was a couple of months ago. I cant recall how long he was siting. This morning he sat on his potty and pooped only after a few minutes of sitting down. Then later in the afternoon when we got home from errands, I had him sit on his potty and he peed...a few minutes later he was in the living room and had a poop accident. But he did run to the bathroom when I caught him in the act (nothing else happened but at least he ran straight to the bathroom!). I do have an update since writing this post!!!! Tonight, before bedtime he sat on the toilet and didnt go, but a few minutes later when SO dressed him in his pj's, he told me he had to go. This is an every night thing. As soon as he lays down he wants to try to go (I guess because he's relaxed and can focus on the feeling). Well he sat and waited, he peed and pooped a tiny bit after a few minutes, he was done, I brought him back to his room, he ran to the bathroom and wanted to go again lol. He didnt poop that time but he did fart a few times and I mean he sat for a good 15 minutes looking through his books, singing and talking to the cat. So it is so obvious he is trying! And he knows how proud we are! :) He has pee down. Poop it seems like he's really trying. Before bed seems to be the time he really understands and tries. Today, even though he had that accident in the afternoon, it seemed like he kinda understood, considering he did it in the morning and night
