Is it ok?

So my son, had accidents while at grandmas house and grandma just let him sit in it.. 

Since then he's been having issues with wearing underwear.. We're trying to fix that, however he wears a diaper at night time so when he wakes up in the morning he throws fits asking to have another diaper on...

Would it be okay to get rid of the diapers completely?
