help for night time training

our special needs 5 yr old grandson we are helping raise is just completing daytime toilet training thanks to a lot of help from his pre k school teacher and his day care. He is wearing underwear in day time and has only had one pee pee accident in about two weeks. He is real good about going poop except that sometimes when he has gas, he thinks he has to poop so there is a lot of frustration on his part that he keeps going to the bathroom and nothing happens.

Now we need suggestions on how to train him for night time. He is hard to get to sleep - should we wake him up to go potty before we go to bed? I am worried he wont go back to sleep. He is currently in diapers at night as he soaks clear through a pullup...I welcome any suggestions you have. horsegal2760@gmail.com

There's a great post in our Night Training forum for this group.  I'm moving your post to that forum so check out the top post.
