Ugh.. it erks me after 2 times. Takes off the diaper, wont keep the pull up or underwear on.. I say okay. If you have to pee go on the potty, wheres the potty? he looks or points at it. Right go pee on the potty.
what happens... he pees on the floor.... sometimes he will get a towel or a cover and try to clean it up...
how do i get him to not pee on the floor!?
telling him isnt doing it. I can drag him to the potty mid stream and he will just not go. then 20min later pees the rest on the floor.
Oh, that'd be frustrating! Is there something that he doesn't like about the potty? It's scary or uncomfortable somehow?
We're having peeing on the floor issues after she's been basically potty trained for a couple of months, but I think it's that she's waiting too long and she'll get as far as underwear off and then pee on the floor before she can hop up. She looks really upset and keeps talking about it so I know her intent is to get to the potty in time so I think this is different. I was still surprised at how long it took me to wipe up a pee mess on the bathroom floor. No big deal really, but I used like 12 paper towels and have to wash the floor mat. I'd go crazy if I had to do it all the time!
What could interest him in the potty? Is it a little potty? Maybe he'd like the big potty better? A special seat? maybe one of the liners that sticks on (usually for public toilets, I think) that has characters on it? Oh! I think there are stickers that change color when peed on. Maybe that'd get him excited about target practice. I don't know. I'm just trying to come up with something. :)
If a child isn't potty trained, they don't know HOW to use the toilet so that's the problem. He might not have bladder control yet and can't control his bladder muscles so expecting him to pee when you think it's time or when he's started going already, it might be something he just can't do yet.
I'd recommend checking out this link: http://www.cafemom.com/journals/read/1182517/3_Day_Potty_Training. Let me know what questions you have.
I'd take him to the potty every time he pees on the floor so he associates what he's just done with using the potty. I know it's frustrating cleaning up messes, but as you train they will become less and less. Hang in there.
