Go on the potty?? Or at least be interested in going on the potty? Since she's been 2.5 we've been trying to get her interested in it and she's just not. I know that every child is different and they will learn when they are ready. (blah blah blah) But I think it's time to get rid of the diapers! We tried over the weekend to put her in big girl underwear thinking that if she peed in them she would like it and want to go on the potty. She peed in them once, started to pee another time and we rushed her to the potty, she sat there for 15 mins and didn't go! Then 10 mins later peed in them. We even put her potty in the living room so she can sit there and read a book or watch tv and not think about going and just go, but that didn't work either. I'm stuck!
I made her a Potty Chart at the beginning of the year for her to put stickers on when she went and also told her that if she peed on the potty she would get a sucker; nothing has worked.
UPDATE: For 2 weeks now Kailyn has been going on the potty at daycare pretty consistantly, at least twice a day, which I think is awesome! And she finally went on the potty at home tonight! I'm so proud of her!!
It took a week before my daughter was officially potty trained and it wasn't easy, that's for sure. It took consistency for sure. The first 3 days were the absolute hardest. I cleaned so much pee off the carpet I think I cleaned every inch of our living room. She too would go potty and not do anything, then 10 minutes later she would go on herself. It was so frustrating and made me feel like a horrible mom. I stuck with it, because it had to be done. One of the first days I had her go commando and she picked up on it quicker, the next day I added the big girl panties. When I go out with just her and her little brother or if we go to church or something, I put a pull up on her. As for starting it, keep up the same routine, don't start changing it, keep the same routine and expectation throughout and invest in some resolve for carpets.
