Peeing in her room during naptime
We've been potty training for about a month now. We have been using a soft potty seat to use in the toilet. She does this really well when I'm around. She even started going to the potty on her own within the last two days. The problem arises during her naptime. We make a special trip before naps to empty out her bladder. I will walk in after naptime and find her naked, dry diaper tossed aside and pee (sometimes poo) on our carpet. I've shown her where to go and ask the "where do you go pee pee?" question to check for understanding and she points at the toilet. I finally decided that the issue was that she wanted to keep her diaper dry (which is what I've been trying to teach her) so I went out and bought a potty seat to place in her room during naptime and night time. We practiced with it a few times, but I still found pee on the floor after naptime.
She still can't really open doors yet, so I was thinking l could keep her door ajar next time so she can go to the restroom if needed. I'm only worried about her taking advantage of this and trying to avoid naptime / bedtime. So if there is any other way I'd like to try that. Any suggestions or possibly something I'm missing? I'm really starting to get frustrated with having to clean up pee or poo every day after naptime.
Put her in underwear- let her pick the ones she wants and reinforce that she's a big girl/princess and they wear underwear all the time and go potty in the toilet.
