Candidate for Poop Jail???

Hello!  I just wanted your opinion on poop jail.  Little guy is fully pee trained...thank you for your support on that one.  We have had about 5 successful poops where we catch him when he needs to go and put him on the potty, but each time it is like TORTURE.  There is much screaming, crying and frustration involved.  After he has gone, he is very proud of himself and happy.  I know that he has to go because he has very specific behaviors that tell me that it is time, but it is as if he is holding his poop in so that he does not have to go in the potty.  We can get him to sit on it, we have shown him that poop goes in the potty as we have dumped  his poop in the big potty and also let him watch us poop.  Seriously, it is like he just holds it in until he does not have to go anymore.  Do you think we should try poop jail?   or have any other suggestions on what our next step should be.  Thank you for everything.

He will be 3 in March.  Day trained for about 1 month and night trained for about a week.  I got a toy for incentive.  I am going to see how that works.  Thanks.

I wouldn't do poop jail yet.  He's still a little on the younger end of things and hasn't been trained all that long yet.

Have you tried giving him privacy when he's in the bathroom, on the toilet?

My daughter is 4 and still ahs trouble with pooping on the potty. I try to encourage her to take her nintendo ds in the bathroom with her and that helps sometimes but i can't always catch her. she has secific behavior too for pooping but once she starts it's like she's trying not to and won't move. it's a fight for me to move her. But when she does do it, and yes i give her privacy in the bathroom, she is very proud of herself and i always give her lots of praise. Sorry If i wasn't much help.
