Well guys...we finally have had a breakthrough. Ethan has had poop issues very similar to all of those previously posted...holding poop in for several days straight, major trauma and drama with each poop, poop in the pants, knowing he has to go but yet refusing. I have posted many a time on our poop situation. Well on tuesday night we notice during dinner that he has to go poop because of the way he is acting. We tell him that he needs to sit up and eat his dinner or go poop in the potty. A few seconds later he says "I want to go poop in the potty" So we take him to the potty and leave him alone. No crying, no screaming, no drama, but instead the sweet sound of a little guy trying to push and saying "I am not scared to poop in the potty any more. I can do it, it's not that bad." OMG!!! It was amazing and we got a poo poo. I gotta tell you...I am not sure exactly what it was that worked because trust me, we tried EVERYTHING. The "nana method" seemed to work well for us, and I am certain that the prayer had something to do with it. Hang in there guys...your success story is on its way!!!
congrats!! we had similar issues too. after a long horrendous day, she did it all by herself (pooped in her potty and dumped into the big toilet and flushed while saying "bye bye poopy!"). i think she realized that i had had enough. i certainly don't think that it's all said and done with though. i hope our kids continue to do their thing from now on!
