Is it going to confuse him if at daycare they do the stand up on a stool method, when I am doing the you sit on the potty method? He really is ready, he tells you when he has to go pee and sometimes it's after(during), but he still wants to try going on the potty. I am just afraid that with the daycare doing one thing and me doing another that he might take a long time to potty train. Oh any comments as to using pull-ups versus underwear. Do they really make it harder? Right now we are using up the last of his diapers and he seems to be okay with that.
You can talk to them about what method works best and if they have good reasoning for it and make your decision based off of that. No matter what they should follow through with what you do at home.
no pull-ups. they are just an expensive diaper and is another thing to transition out of. Go right from diapers to underwear IMO. They do have training pants made by Gerber. They are just regular cotton undies with extra padded absorbency. sold at target for sure, maybe other stores too.

Honestly, the standing/sitting part isn't going to confuse him too much. After all, guys do stand to pee when they just need to pee and sit and pee when they are sitting to poop. He needs to know how to do both so it doesn't matter I don't think. Keep in mind though that you might want to let them know that you are teaching him to sit right now and they SHOULD follow your request.
If your daycare will allow him to wear underwear then I'd do that. Pull ups are abused by most kids that use them. They tend to pee in them just like they did with diapers because they know they don't have to stop what they are doing to go pee because the pull up will pull the moisture away just like the diaper does. Kids are way smarter than we give them credit for a lot of times!
See if your daycare will allow him to wear underwear and clothes for a certain number of accidents before you say it's ok to put him in pull ups/diapers. For instance, see if they will let him have 4 messes in underwear a day before they put him in a diaper/pull up. Then send enough clothes for the messes plus one extra outfit for when they put a diaper/pull up on him. You all may be surprised at how well he does in underwear. :-)
I don't have a lot of advice on potty training my oldest isn't quite ready for potty yet, I however do agree with the whole PullUps vs. Underwear, I would so go with the underwear because from what I see and have seen happen is that the pull up is just another diaper.
