I told you they'd be coming :)

As far as grocerystores, I realize Publix is right down the road but is that the only one? or is there a less expensive one? We're so used to commissary shopping Steve called me about the cost of bagel bites :)

Hows crime?  are there parts that we should avoid?

Our cat didn't travel well and is well, chewing his fur off...what vets do you use?

coming from WA, and ME we don't know about bugs,  what stuff bites :) gets in your house and how do you get rid of them?

Are there local events that we can take mad to

how about where to see the fireworks on the 4th

I'm sure I'll have more I'm still in Maine and will be flying in on monday

wow..it is great you are here.    there is a air foce base here in homestead with one of those base stores.  i use it when my brother is down.  no tax and some things are cheeper.  publix is pricey but i shop there for their good sales.  u can also join the publix baby club andthey send you coupons.  there is winn dixie who has a lot of buy one get one free deals sometimes.  and also a super walmart.    and there grociers can be pretty cheap.   and of course there is the bugs.  right now the misquitos are bad.  keep spray on the little ones if your outside.  lol  bc of the rain i been seeing alot of frogs and grasshoppers around.  yuck!   watch the red ants and if u get them i think there is some powder to spinkle.

usually they have fireworks at the sports complex.  we can see them from our house so we watch from there.

hope this helps

The Base has a BX Mart. You have to watch out for mosquitoes... good and bad areas are mixed up, that's mostly all of So. Florida, so it's very hard to not drive through a bad area... stick to main roads when navigating. You have to search, ask, to find events around here. Here are some sites that may help you:

Here's some summer activities I just found out about today:

Coral Castle's Moon Festival this Saturday, June 11th: 305-248-6345
Southland Mall Regal Cinema's FREE Family Movies, Tue & Weds: 305-251-7440

The Homestead BX is pretty small! I agree about Publix being expensive, but it's worth it when they have the buy one get one free items; We also shop at WinDixie for the buy one get one free or sometimes 1/2

I try not to use those mosquito sprays on the kids... instead, I purchase this little thing that makes a buzz and keeps the mosquitos away. You can attach it to the stroller or just hang it from their clothes.... it has a little clip.

Flagship cinemas has Free movies @ 10:00am starting this week... every Tues., wed., and Thursday. I believe they run til the 2nd week of July. I can send you the flyer if you want.

New Beginnings church is on 288th street; less than 5 minutes from waterstone; They have a vacation bible school starting on Monday. It ends on Friday.... from 8:30am to 12

The library is on US1 and campbell; story time is every thursday at 11am and wed. at 7pm; They have a parenting magazine that comes out every month. I love it because it gives you a list of family events throughout south Fl.

I invite you to visit my home church.... Christ Fellowship. We meet at the Waterstone Charter school. Services are Sundays at 10:00am and 11:30am.... you'll be one of the first to know that we are starting Saturday night services... probably at 6:30pm.  Our children's ministry is really good!

Have a safe trip
