when i make mashed potatoes i do basic milk [or plain fat free yogurt], some butter, salt and pepper. any way i can "spice" them up? make them different without adding too much in calories and fat? im not sure what spices or add-ins [veggies?] would go good with potatoes. thanks!
I would use butter buds instead of butter to free up some points so I could add low fat cheese. Also adding garlic would spice them up. I add garlic powder and onion powder. Also using cauliflower in place of the potatoes (or even half and half) would free up points to add other ingredients like bacon bits. Also check out the boxed mashed potatoes like Betty Crocker.
This is giving me ideas for dinner:)
