Just a Question in General.......
What does everyone use to Clean their bird's cage...?
Just hot water, if I need to scrub the cage, I use an sos pad, then rinse with plenty of water and dry completely..........never use anything harsh in a bird cage...........if you get a used bird cage from someone or your bird died in a cage and you suspect a disease, wash it down with bleach water but never use that while the bird is occupying a cage..........frankly, if a diseased bird died, I'd get a new cage.
I use a weak dawn dish liquid solution and hot water.Rinse real well.
.....I normally use
1/4 cp . Clorox to 3 gal. of Hot Water.....Monthly
Dawn to a Bucket full of Hot Water......Weekly
LOL , Thank's for the Reply's , I was just wondering if there was a better way , than Elbow Grease........
White vinegar mostly. I mist the cages down everyday when I clean the trays out, then I wipe off the loosened poop and debris. I rarely need a deep cleaning but I do have "poop off." I think I have had the bottle for over a year and I have 5 birds. Guess I don't use it much. For toys, etc... I run the foot toys through the dishwasher about once a week.
we dump it all out, hot water and dish soap and simple green.
then we line it with paper and recycled bedding (care fresh)
