There is sort of an irony in this concept.
We're taught to give of ourselves and to be available for the needs of others, but the truth is, if we aren't "selfish" enough to clean up our own point of attraction, pay attention to how we feel, and listen to our own guidance then we don't have anything to give anyone else anyway.
The best gift any of us can give to each other is being a living and breathing example of empowerment in our own lives. The other best gift we can give after that is teaching self-empowerment. This goes well along with the old saying "Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you'll feed him for life."
When we are living in empowerment, we honor ourselves as the creators of our own lives, and when that awareness is fully embodied, it is only natural to create joy and happiness - because that is who we really are.
When we are in this space, we hold ourselves accountable for our experience. We assume full ownership of our feelings, our choices, our physical manifestations, and so on. This is the real meaning of self-awareness. The knowing that true joy and happiness are not caused by anything outside of ourSELVES. We are always free to choose any thought or feeling we want.
It is only in knowing this that all disempowered emotion such as fear, blame, anger, resentment, and resistance have our permission to fall away. Imagine if we lived in a world where everyone held themselves and NO ONE ELSE responsible for their lives? War could never take place on a planet that fully embodied this level of awareness. There would be no need to "do anything to someone else so that they won't do something to me." A global consciousness such as this is only possible if we each embody it on an individual level, one "self" at a time.
Blessings,
Sara E.
