National picks a theme every year don't they, could you go with that one? Or you don't like their choice? Or at least the month of February has a theme, so you could go with that?

We usually stuck with the theme. But we did alot of patriotic themes/things.

We always did the placemats & centerpiece contests, etc. In that theme, etc.

BSA has National Themes for each month.  You can find them here -

http://scouting.org/cubscouts/resources/CSMonthlyThemes.aspx

You don't have to use them, but it does help to pull things together.

The theme for February is American ABC's.  If that one does not do anything for you, you can go with January - A-MAZE-ing Games, March - When I Grow up, or April - Jurassic Park.

Also Indian, Wild West, Science, or Nature all work well.

Then there is always just going with the reason for the Blue and Gold celebration - A Birthday Party for Scouting.

I don't know what we are doing for our B&G theme yet.  SIGH!  I missed this month's Pack Leaders/Committee Meeting, so I could not push for a decision.  Our Cubmaster hates talking about anything over 1 month away, so we will be doing something that takes little prep I am sure.  Maybe I can corner our leaders this Friday at our PWD and get some feedback on a theme.  I really don't particularly like the ABC theme.
