Hi, My name is Jackie. I have a beautiful 4 year old girl who was dx with JRA in October of this year right before her 4th B-day. It has been nerve racking for us to say the least. It is amazing how children adapt to situations and how strong they truly can be. She is currently on Methotrexate injections and Naproxen. Recently she has been getting upset stomach. The morning after her injection on the way to the dentist she threw up in the car. Motherhood is a though job, anyone can attest to that, but this is a hole other ball game. It kills me to see her suffer.

Hi My daughters nurse told me that the folic acid helps with the stomach problems also so they dont get the sores in the mouth from the metho. Hope she feels better.
My 5 year old son is on methotrexate, naproxen, folic acid and zantac for the stomach upset twice a day. Ask about it from your dr. He also won't eat as much 1-2 days after his injection we let him snack on whatever he wants to keep his weight up. Try giving methotrexate on friday afternoon/ evenings so she can rest on weekends. We got this advice from my son's speech teacher who also takes the methotrexate. It seem's to work out best over weekend so he doesn't feel icky when going to school.
