Hello. My name is Brittany and about a month ago they told us they think my daughter, Alexis, has JA. She has been having problems with her right knee since April and will be 2 in September. The baby who never cried and smiled first thing in the morning, woke up screaming and wouldn't walk for up to 3 hours after waking up. She has severe limited mobility in the right knee and cannot fully extend her leg. They thought at first it was a viral infection of the knee from Rotavirus and said it would fix itself. When it didn't, they ordered blood tests, all of which came back negative, including the one for RA. When I questioned the Dr about how she could have arthritis when the tests they ordered came back negative, they just said it doesn't always show up in toddlers. We have been going to a physical therapist for a month and a half every week. While it seems to help, she still has not regained any of her extension in her leg. We have seen a rheumatologist once the end of June and will see her again the end of August. She prescribed Naproxen, which doesn't seem to be helping much. The only thing that we have found that has helped any of Lexi's pain is Miracle of Aloe Miracle Rub. Alexis has about 2-4 bad days a week where she wakes up in severe pain and has some pretty harsh swelling. Some mornings she won't walk. I hate seeing my baby have to become used to this pain. Is there anything that anyone has tried that has helped with pain? We have done Mortin (before the naproxen), ice, heat, baths. Thanks in advance.
