We've been through Motrin treatment (and then stomach and kidney problems), Methotraxte (crushed pill and then injections... and then nauseau), Vioxx, Tylenol, Joint Injections, Cortisone eye drops, and Enbrel.
What have you tried? What worked? What didn't? What are you using now?

We are using Naproxen, Methotrexate, Leucovotin Calcium, Zantac, Folic Acid, Enbrel injections. We haven't had any problems so far, yet last month the doctors reduced her dose of Methotrexate because her liver enzymes were higher than normal. I have recently heard that milk and wheat products can cause falre ups so we are slowly removing those products from our diet. I am doing some research for what have been called anti-inflammatory diet.

I beg you to give Young Living a try. The medications will not fix it, only mask the problem. Through the oils I have met many with arthritis and can only say what I have heard. "They helped"
I believe in these oils so much that my husband and I have become distributors. Not because of money but because we have to share! Please take the time to look at this testimonial website and see what others have said. ITs worth a try!
http://www.oil-testimonials.com/6723 Just plug in Rheumotoid Arthritis and see what comes up. If you have any questions then just ask.

methotrexate AND enbrel? wow. are they trying to wean her completely OFF the methotrexate?
Yeah, they said that since the enbrel is doing so good with her that they want to see if they reduce the Methotrexate slowly and then completely have her take none and she still doesn't have flare ups the hopefully she won't have to take it no longer. She was still having flare ups with the methotrexate and after starting the enbrel she hasn't had a flare up in over 2 yrs. I use esstential oils for school, I am currently going to Massage Therapy class, and I am finding out the wonderful effects they have. i am going to start useing them for Acacia< I ordered a few and will start using them when they get here. I'll keep everyone posted.

Hi there. We've used the Motrin treatment but she has kidney reflux disease, so her doctor stopped that. She was on the liquid form of Methotrexate (given by oral syringe) when she was 18 - 36 months, but due to her being diagnosed with diabetes and the accute nausea at that point, her rheumatologist and her endocrinologist both agreed it would be best to take her off at that time. She is now back on Methotrexate only this time it's subcutaneously. She still get's a bit sick, but Benadryl conteracts most of the time. She's also on Naproxen. She's been given numerous doses of cortisone shots in her left ankle. Her first one was when she was 19 months old.

Lucas is currently using Enbryl, Naproxen and Prednisone. After he gets back from camp his Rheumatologist want to double his dose of Enbryl and add in a dose of Methotrexate.

My son is also going to be using both the Methotrexate and Enbrel together...they say that they work the best together.

Linzy was just diagnosed. They had her on Motrin this past month prior to the diagnosis. Now she is on Naproxen & a generic version of Zantec.
The doctor didn't RX very many refills so I assume he wants to see how this goes before making long-term plans for medication.

http://cashcrate.com/388648 I just got my first check, I'll be darned, it does work! Yay!
Parrafin wax? What do you do with that? I've been trying to read up on treatment options, but I haven't found too many outside of prescriptions so this post is very helpful! I'm worried about the long term effects of Motrin and the like. My girl is has been underweight since getting pnemonia in April. We're trying to get more vitamins and such into her, but she's OCD with food and we have a hell of a time. I'm hoping once her pain levels go down maybe we can get her back on the right track, and with some therapy get her muscles built back up.
