Ok so now everyone prob thinks Im a loser. But seriously I was diagnosed last year. I remembered yesterday while I was again laying on my couch watching oprah & Dr.oz. I recall I wanted to watch it bc I sawa  preview of a woman with excess facila hair and I also have this so wanted to see what the old Doc had to say. I was shocked when he said pcos and I remembered right away OMG that is what all this is about! So I started researching like mad yesterday! I guess I was supposed to watch that oprah episode. I have weight gain, excess hair, depression, and absolutely no menses unless they decide to come once a year and I can't even leave my home they are so bad! I was so happy to find this group on cafemom! I was placed on Birth control and it was working great - Then my very high blood pressure kicked in, along with my high cholesterol  and I can't take it anymore so again I gained back the 30 lbs I lost (cry) and now I dont know what else to do? Im going to research a bit more but there's so much NOT out there about this!

Yes, you definitely were supposed to see that show, because it triggered something for you to get you back in the game.

Listen ... NO ONE thinks you're a loser!  We all have a heart full of sympathy for you, because PCOS is often a frustrating, complicated health issue to deal with.  You just have to look at it like learning to ride a bike or roller skate when you were a kid ..... no matter how many times you fall off, or no matter how many times it feels like you'll never get it right ..... you just keep getting back up and on that bike.

Stay plugged in here for tons of good information (also, you might want to go to the main cafemom page, as there is another excellent group called pcos moms- or something like that - which has at least twice as many members as this group.  Then, continue to work on your healthy eating and healthy exercising, and it will eventually come together for you!

We're all pulling for you!

Hi I contacted Woman's Day because I thought they should do an article about this and here they did and they sent me copies in the mail. But in the one article it was about high blood pressure and cholesterol from the PCOS and this lady got put on Metforin and it started to help her but when she had an ultrasound done here she had cancer. When they found the cancer they removed it and then put her on the metforin and it said she was doing better. But she was only 37 when that happened and they had to remove all of her female parts. I am only 21 and that scared the crap out of me and i wish I had medical insurance because I would really like to go to the doctor. I have all of the syptoms hair growth fat no periods and my body is always swollen.

I would get to the doctor and try and get put on Metforin. Or if you cant I have been using Vitex it is an herb you can get at the store I have been taking it for 2 months and I have been getting my period like clock work now for 2 months!

Good luck with everything
