I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 months ago. My doctor put me on Metformin and the Nuvaring BC for 2 months even though we are TTC to straighten out my periods and hormones. My first month on the meds brought me to a 28 day cycle. YAY!!
I take the ring out on the 14th and will start my clomid shortly after. (Depending on when I start) I have no idea what to expect. Can any of you help me? Has anyone gotten pregnant on the first try with clomid?
We are only doing clomid once because it costs 50 dollars for 5 pills and my insurance doesn't cover it. I really want this to work, but I want to be realistic too.
Thanks in advance for your comments and advice.
Jaime
I too have just begun clomid. I would reccomend you get your perscription filled at walmart. I got mine filled there and it only cost me $18.00 (that was without insurance, as my insurance compnay refuses to cover it as well.)
I have PCOS as well. I don't personally know anyone with PCOS who has conceived successfully, but I've read lots of success stories on the net about concieving on a combination of clomid and metformin.
However, I have known 3 couples who successfully conceived while on clomid. Babydust to both of us!
hi there. i also have PCOS. was TTC for 2yrs but i never got AF when i stopped the pill. had to take Provera to bring on AF and then start Chlomid and luckily i got pregnant on 1st cycle and end result was a baby boy. it can vary with different people,as my sister also had to use Chlomid on 2 out of 3 of her pregnancies(she has Fibroids). 1st cycle she got pregnant but on 3rd pregnancy it took her 4 cycles. i am now TTC#2 for last 3yrs but nothing happening.
baby dust to you and hope everything works out
