Hello Everyone...I am in the process of taking the courses to get my real estate license.  I am, however, starting to reconsider my career choice and was hoping some of you could help me out.  I have two children 9 & 15.  I am hoping to be able to work during the day while they are in school.  I am open to the occasional showing in the evening, but I do not want to work every night...as I want to spend time with my children.  I will, however, be available at home for paperwork, phone calls, etc. in the evenings and weekends.  Can anyone tell me if this is realistic at all or if I have wishful thinking!!!!

Weekends are more of an issue than nights are. You really can't get out of weekend showings, since that's when most customers are available to go. But you should be able to do the bulk of your work during the day.

The best advice I can give you is to be very organized with your time, contacts, and information. Find a system for managing it all that you can use every day, and then use it every day! :-) The more productive you are during business hours, the easier it'll be to pick to stick to a stopping time.

That's great advice!

Bottom line is the more available you are, the more clients you can expose yourself to, the better your chances of making an income you can live on.
