I love rice-a-roni, but I hate preboxed food... so I figured out how to make my own

This part is by eye - I add regular rice, brown rice...  just a mix together
Vermacelli (a type of spaghetti noodle. Regular spaghetti is ok substitute)

break apart the spaghetti into tiny pieces, mix with rice until it looks about right.
I make a whole bunch at once and store in an airtight container.

1 cup of mix = 1 box
Sautee in frying pan with butter/margarine/oil of choice
just before it burns add 1 cup of water

NOW THE FUN BEGINS!
The basic fake is ONE BULLION CUBE!  Chicken or beef or pork or tomato, or whatever! Add it to the water so it melts and mixes in.
OPTIONAL: Then I add maybe chipped up chicken, precooked broccoli, leftover hamburger, garlic, mashed up green beans... anything to taste that goes with the bullion cube I chose. And cook the rest of the way like a regular rice-a-roni dish.
