What changes have you made to improve your eating habits, help with weight loss and just feel better?

I've been trying to add almonds to my diet...in moderation, they help curb hunger and have many beneficial properties.

I also am not a veggie eater (salad stuff, but romaine lettuce is as green as it gets for me) so I've been trying to add in V8 vegetable juice...

I've been trying (this ones a struggle) to cut back on sugar (I love tea...SWEET tea...)

I've been watching portions...not ging back for second helpings

What changes have you been making in your eating habits?

I switched to Organic fat-free milk, and am very happy with the taste and quality.  It is SO much better than the regular milk at the groc.

I also keep different kinds of nuts for snacking.

And I switched to wheat bread.  I used the expensive kind for a while, but didn't like spending that much for 1 loaf of bread.  Gave my bread machine away--shucks.  Anyway, my boys decided they like wheat bread, too.  So, that's good.

I also keep fresh fruit at home, which I didn't do before.  But I love a peanut butter/banana sandwich for breakfast, with a diet DP.  Yummy!

And I only buy Simply Orange OJ, but only have 1 serving a day, because I have to watch my blood sugar.  But it is so good!  And no sugar or preservatives added!

Nothing yet, but want to get a healthier lifestyle... I need to lose 40lb and DS needs to lose 50 lb...sigh, but he's so picky and has trouble with texture, certain textures make him gag and )not as often anymore), but some textures will make him puke..Yuck! So we are taking it slow...already add spinach to my meatloaf and he says I make the best meatloaf!!!! LOL, if he only knew ;-)

I have joined Weight Watchers. I am trying to cut back on the Sweet Tea too! Adding the fresh fruits and veggies in mopre than the "snack" type food. It's easy right now, once winter comes I struggle!!!!! I tend to be a comfort food cook...

I buy more chicken and fish! Also lean ground beef and brown rice and  whole grain pasta. I stay away from process foods and canned foods.

I've always eaten pretty healthy but I did have a special affection towards fried chicken and chicken fried steak and gravy. I cut out all fried foods, white bread, and white rice. Although, I will still have those items occasionally, on holidays and gatherings for example, or if I haven't had them in a long time. Not completely denying myself helps me stay on the healthy track.
